Sales Manager, Northeast USA

Job Summary

As the direct interface between Porocel and our clients, the sales manager is responsible for driving sales and marketing of adsorbents, catalysts and services to the refining and petrochemical customers in the US. The position is home based in Northeast USA region. The sales territory is primarily situated in Northeast and also includes accounts throughout the US.



  • Achieve sales objectives for both catalyst services and products.
  • Work with Management to define sales strategies for each account in the territory.
  • Coordinate Porocel’s technical service assets as needed to address our customers’ technical needs and perform on-site technical training.
  •  Maintain existing customers and identify new customers, continuously strengthening the relationships.
  •  Prepare commercial documents including quotations, terms and conditions, and sales contracts to deliver effective proposals matching the level of support required by the customer.
  •  Advise customers on creating cost-effective and environmentally sound solutions in managing their catalyst and adsorbent assets.
  •  Increase sales growth by identifying customer and market needs that can be satisfied by Porocel technologies.
  • Meet the goals defined specifically for assigned sales territory, such as target number of face to face visits, number of quotations submitted, and products/services volumes.
  • Travel overnight and out of state, up to 40% of the time, and within budgeted guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

 Experience and Education Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in sales
  • 3+ years of experience in the refinery/petrochemical industries
  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or Chemistry
  • Excellent oral and written communication, well organized and accurate
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong customer service skills with a “team player” mindset and ability to interact professionally with peers, leadership, and customers
  • Goal oriented, driven by results, problem solver
  • Solid work ethic, willing to invest the time needed to be successful, which at times may require work outside of standard business hours
  • Ability to efficiently use all Microsoft Office products and CRM system, or willingness to learn
